Program Mission:

The mission of the Member Mall concept is to significantly boost the value of BBB membership, while substantially increasing Bureau revenue and consumer satisfaction. 

A proven, tested program designed to:

very membership organization is facing greater challenges each year attracting and retaining members. New revenue sources are vital to provide quality services to the public and business community. There is always a threshold in the amount dues can be raised while providing the same level of services to members. 

Many Bureaus offer value added services such as advertising co-ops, member rosters/directories, awards events, etc. in order to increase revenue. Often the problem with these programs is the perceived value versus the donation value to the Bureau. Repeat, loyal members tend to participate as a way to support the Bureau mission, but not necessarily as a wise ad buy or a tangible return on investment. Furthermore, many of the members that offer this level of support are large, corporate donors who are now downsizing and cutting budgets.

The Member Mall concept provides tangible value to members that far exceeds the cost. The combined direct value on the open market of a basic Web site presence, hosting for a year, and listing on a prime Mall site is much greater than the cost of the program and membership combined. With this program, it's as if the member is buying the Web site at a significant discount, but receiving a free BBB membership. This program helps every sized member, but particularly benefits the small
business that may not have a Web presence at all.

The program taps into the revenue stream of the small member most Bureaus have never been able to sell additional value-added benefits to in the past. Unlike the major corporate supporters, these small companies invest in the program as a direct benefit to their bottom line - not as a perceived donation to the Bureau. These members view the combined package as an excellent value, and will be much less likely to say, “What has the BBB done for me lately?” when it's time to renew.

The Member Mall program costs the Bureau nothing out-of-pocket to launch or maintain. I-Net Spin charges a low per site fee for a custom site created by our staff, and the Bureau can raise the price to generate substantial revenue. There are also additional revenue generators such as banner ads, coupons, and online discount offers similar to revenue generated from a printed roster/consumer guide. This price covers the entire process from data entry to photo optimization to text editing. 

The local Bureau maintains complete control over the project, and continues its direct relationship with the member to build long-term membership value. The entire cost of the program is passed through to the member, while the value of membership is significantly enhanced beyond the expense.
